I wrote the following a few minutes into our red-eye flight home from San Diego on Saturday night. It was meant just to explain the current situation to Amanda without making any noise. It also includes the longest run-on sentence I’ve ever written, so I’m keeping it around.
The setup: Amanda had the window seat and I was in the middle. We were both tired and a little cranky.

I saw a lady in the supermarket today with a custom jacket that said “NY GIANTS 3-TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPS.” I wonder if she is happy now because the Giants won, or sad because she needs a new custom jacket.

I’ve never been to Cooperstown, and the nonsense in the past several years that has excluded such obviously deserving players such as Larkin and Jeff Bagwell does nothing to make me too excited about the trek.

Though PSE&G has not said whether power is on for good, or whether this is just another false alarm.
I’ll enjoy this electricity while it lasts in any case.
Today went from best-case (power comes back on before I leave to work somewhere else) to worst-case (…then power goes back out, stranding me without a car) entirely too quickly.
Electricity is a fickle bitch.
