"Cooperstown doesn’t honor Barry Larkin with a plaque; Larkin honors Cooperstown with the way he played baseball. Seventy-eight people [who did not vote for Larkin] dishonor both with their ignorance."
Joe Sheehan Newsletter, January 10, 2012
I’ve never been to Cooperstown, and the nonsense in the past several years that has excluded such obviously deserving players such as Larkin and Jeff Bagwell does nothing to make me too excited about the trek.
I’ll get there someday, maybe this summer, but I’ll be going to see the museum more than the actual Hall. The Hall as currently constituted and elected is a farce and an embarrassment to the game of baseball.
